Whenever a Thessalian moves into a new home or begins practicing the religion, it is customary first to erect a shrine to the Dioskouroi, Kastor and Pollux, to invoke their protection and blessings. The shrine should be honored with an offering of two pears, incense, and two small glasses of wine, symbolizing the unity and strength of the divine twins. This ritual serves to invite their presence and safeguard the home and its inhabitants. Additionally, it is a tradition for Thessalians to bring a small piece of cake home from any children's birthday party they attend, placing it on the Dioskouroi shrine.
